Booking & Scheduling

7 Qs
How do I book a pandit with Gopuja?+

Just WhatsApp us at +91 6364375041. Share your puja type, preferred date, area in Bangalore, and family tradition (South/North Indian). We respond within minutes with muhurat suggestions and a complete quote. No forms, no app download, no upfront payment.

How far in advance should I book?+

For regular pujas (Satyanarayan, Vastu Shanti, Grihapravesha), 3–7 days in advance is ideal. For large homas and weddings, book 2–3 weeks ahead. For festival pujas (Navratri, Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi), book at least 2 weeks early — dates fill fast.

Can I get a pandit on the same day?+

Yes — subject to pandit availability. For most regular pujas across Bangalore, same-day bookings are possible if you WhatsApp us before noon. Peak muhurat windows and festival dates may not allow same-day service.

What happens after I confirm booking?+

We confirm the pandit, share their name and contact, finalize the muhurat, and dispatch the samagri kit the day before. The pandit calls you 30–60 minutes before arrival on puja day.

Can I reschedule or cancel?+

Yes. Reschedule up to 24 hours before the puja at no charge. For cancellations made 48+ hours in advance, there is no cancellation fee. For last-minute cancellations, a partial samagri cost may apply since the kit is already packed.

Do you operate on Sundays and festival days?+

Yes. We operate all 7 days, including festivals. In fact, festival days are our busiest — we pre-book pandits weeks in advance for Navratri, Diwali, Ugadi, and Ganesh Chaturthi.

What are your working hours?+

WhatsApp responses from 6 AM to 10 PM. Pandits perform pujas from early-morning muhurats (3 AM for certain rituals) to late-evening (9 PM homams).

Pricing & Payment

7 Qs
How much do puja services cost in Bangalore?+

Starting prices: Satyanarayan ₹3,499 · Grihapravesha ₹7,999 · Ganapathi Homam ₹5,499 · Rudrabhishekam ₹6,999 · Wedding ₹15,999+. See /pricing for all 28 services. Every quote is itemized and shared upfront on WhatsApp before you commit.

What is included in the price?+

Pandit's dakshina, complete samagri kit (40+ items), day-before doorstep delivery, muhurat consultation, travel across Bangalore, and post-puja prasad arrangement. No hidden fees.

How do I pay? Cash, UPI, or card?+

We accept cash, all major UPI apps (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm), IMPS/NEFT bank transfer, and card. Typically half is paid on kit delivery, balance after the puja.

Do I need to pay in advance?+

No full-advance payment required for regular bookings. Large homas and weddings may require a small booking deposit (10–20%) to confirm the date. All payments are receipted.

Are there extra charges for distant Bangalore areas?+

For the 78 main Bangalore areas we serve, there is no travel surcharge. For satellite towns (Hosur, Nelamangala, Doddaballapura, Anekal), a small travel supplement of ₹500–₹1,500 may apply — always quoted upfront.

Do you offer discounts for multiple pujas?+

Yes. Booking 2+ pujas together (e.g., Grihapravesha + Vastu Shanti + Satyanarayan) gets a combined package rate. Annual family bookings and apartment community pujas also receive custom pricing.

Is GST or tax included?+

Religious services are GST-exempt in India, so no GST is charged on pandit dakshina. GST on physical samagri items is already included in the bundled price — nothing extra on your final invoice.

Our Pandits & Traditions

8 Qs
Who are your pandits?+

Gopuja is founded by Pandit Manjunath Bhat — Head Priest at Shri Veeranjaneya Swamy Temple since 2005, with Sanskrit Dharmashastra qualification from Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthanam, New Delhi. Our team includes 15+ senior Vedic pandits certified in both South Indian and North Indian traditions.

Do you perform both South and North Indian pujas?+

Yes — this is our specialty. Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam Smarta and Iyengar traditions; Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi traditions. Mention your family tradition when booking and we assign the right pandit.

In which language will the pandit explain the puja?+

English, Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam — whichever language your family prefers. Our pandits explain each step, mantra meaning, and symbolism so the family understands what is happening.

Are the mantras chanted authentically?+

Yes. Every mantra is chanted in Sanskrit with correct swaras (intonation) as prescribed in the Yajurveda and Rigveda. Our pandits have memorized the Rudram, Chamakam, Purusha Suktam, Sri Suktam, and other Vedic hymns.

Can the same pandit perform multiple pujas for my family?+

Absolutely. Many families prefer a consistent pandit who knows their tradition. Mention your preference when booking — we assign the same pandit for your Namakarana, Annaprashana, Upanayanam, and Grihapravesha wherever possible.

Can I speak to the pandit before the puja?+

Yes. Once booking is confirmed, we share the pandit's contact. You can discuss family tradition details, specific sankalpa requirements, and any ancestral customs you want included.

How long has Gopuja been operating?+

Gopuja Vedic Private Limited is a registered company. Our founder Pandit Manjunath Bhat has been actively performing pujas for Bangalore families for 20+ years since 2005.

Do you handle community pujas at temples or apartment complexes?+

Yes. Apartment Satyanarayan, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, and temple Rudrabhishekam sponsorships are a major part of our work. We arrange multiple pandits, large homa kunds, and coordinated prasad distribution. Visit /group-puja.

Puja Samagri & Kits

7 Qs
What is included in the samagri kit?+

40+ items per ritual: kalash (copper/brass pot), coconut, mango leaves, turmeric, kumkum, sandal paste, fresh flowers, rice, sesame, barley, ghee, camphor, agarbathi, dhoop, new cloth, panchamrita ingredients, havan kund, samidha (sacred wood), fruits, and puja-specific items.

When does the kit get delivered?+

The day before your puja, typically between 4 PM and 9 PM. You are notified when the delivery leaves and when it arrives. You can also choose same-day delivery for last-minute bookings.

Can I order only the samagri kit without a pandit?+

Yes. If a family member or temple priest is performing the puja, you can order just the kit. Starting from ₹499 for small Satyanarayan samagri, up to ₹3,499 for complete Grihapravesha and large homa kits.

Are the items fresh? I heard flowers wilt quickly.+

Flowers and banana leaves are procured the same morning and sealed. Durable items (turmeric, rice, ghee, havan wood) are pre-packed. Everything arrives in food-grade, labeled packaging.

What if something is missing from the kit?+

Every kit is checked twice against a standard list before dispatch. In the rare case of a missing item, notify us on WhatsApp — we deliver the missing item within 2 hours at no cost.

Can I customize the kit?+

Yes. Silver kalash upgrade, specific flower types (lotus, malati), silk cloth, premium havan wood, or regional samagri (Tulsi mala, specific herbs) — all available as kit customizations. Share preferences on WhatsApp.

Do you use organic/pesticide-free ingredients?+

Where possible, yes. Turmeric, kumkum, rice, ghee, and sesame are sourced from trusted organic suppliers. Cow ghee is from desi cow-based dairies. Mention if you want fully organic — we can arrange.

Areas & Travel

6 Qs
Which Bangalore areas do you serve?+

All 78+ areas of Bangalore — HSR Layout, Whitefield, Electronic City, Koramangala, Indiranagar, JP Nagar, Marathahalli, Yelahanka, Hebbal, Sarjapur Road, BTM Layout, Jayanagar, Malleshwaram, Rajajinagar, Bannerghatta Road, and all surrounding zones. See /areas for the complete list.

Do you serve outside Bangalore?+

Yes — for satellite cities Hosur, Nelamangala, Doddaballapura, Anekal, Hoskote, Chandapura, Bidadi, and surrounding taluks within 50 km of Bangalore. Travel supplement applies. For further distances, contact us on WhatsApp.

Can you perform pujas in apartments where outside priests are restricted?+

Yes. Our pandits carry ID cards, are dressed appropriately, and can coordinate with apartment security or facility teams in advance. Share your apartment name and we handle the coordination.

Will the pandit bring everything, or do I set up?+

The kit is delivered the day before. Our pandit brings only his personal items (panchanga, yagnopavita, additional sandals). You set up the altar based on a simple diagram we share; the pandit arranges everything properly on arrival.

What if my building has strict entry rules?+

Share your building's visitor policy with us when booking. We pre-register the pandit and kit delivery personnel. For extra-secure gated communities, we can submit documentation in advance.

Do you serve villas and farmhouses outside city limits?+

Yes — we regularly perform pujas at farmhouses, weekend villas, and wedding halls across the Bangalore outskirts. Mileage-based travel cost applies beyond 30 km from our Kudlu HQ.

Section 6

Festivals & Muhurat

6 Qs
Which festivals do you perform pujas for?+

Ugadi, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, Dussehra (Ayudha Puja), Diwali (Lakshmi-Kubera), Karthika Deepam, Makar Sankranti, Ramanavami, Janmashtami, Shivaratri, Varalakshmi Vrata, and more. See /services?category=festival.

How do I pick a muhurat for my ritual?+

Share your nakshatra or date of birth — our pandit suggests 3–5 auspicious windows. See /muhurat-calendar for general 2026 dates, but personalization based on your chart is always free with any booking.

Can you do an emergency puja (last-minute muhurat)?+

Yes — subject to availability. For auspicious last-minute events (sudden marriage fixing, emergency Ayush Homam, pre-surgery puja), we prioritize and arrange pandits within hours.

What happens during Chaturmasa (monsoon pause)?+

Chaturmasa (mid-July to mid-November) restricts certain new beginnings like Grihapravesha and Vivaha. However, Satyanarayan, Rudrabhishekam, Homams, and festival pujas continue normally. We advise on which rituals are suitable.

Do you perform pujas during eclipses (Grahan)?+

Not during the eclipse itself — this is traditionally avoided. Post-eclipse (after bath/snanam), we perform Graha Shanti and Navagraha remedial pujas. Pre-eclipse, the temple is also closed by custom.

What about Pitru Paksha (ancestor fortnight)?+

Pitru Paksha (15 days around September–October) is reserved for Shraddha and Pitru Tarpana. Joyful new-beginning pujas are avoided. Our pandits perform expert Shraddha ceremonies during this window.

Section 7

Home Setup & What to Expect

5 Qs
How should I prepare my home before the puja?+

Clean the puja area/altar room thoroughly. Keep a low wooden peeta (seat) for the pandit, a clean mat or rug for the family to sit, and a clear 3x3 ft space in front of the altar. Cover any idols in the home with a cloth for ritual re-invocation.

What should I wear during the puja?+

Traditional attire — silk saree or salwar for ladies, dhoti or kurta-pajama for men. Avoid black clothing. The head of the family performing sankalpa typically wears a veshti (dhoti) with uttariyam.

How long does a typical puja take?+

Small Satyanarayan: 1.5 hours. Grihapravesha: 3–4 hours. Wedding puja: 4–6 hours. Maha Mrutyunjaya Homa: 5–8 hours. Exact duration depends on scale and the number of mantras recited.

Do I need to arrange food for the pandit?+

Not mandatory, but a simple satvik meal post-puja (or fresh fruits, milk, prasad) is traditional and appreciated. No non-veg, no onion/garlic, no alcohol on the premises during puja.

Can children and elderly attend the puja?+

Absolutely — puja is a family event. Seating is flexible. For elderly family members with mobility issues, let us know so the pandit keeps their involvement comfortable. Children can participate in milder rituals like flower offering.

Section 8

Special Requests

4 Qs
Can I add specific mantras or family customs?+

Yes. If your family has an ishta devata (chosen deity) or a specific kuladevata (family deity), mention it — the pandit includes the custom invocation. Heirloom items (silver lamps, ancestral kalash) can be incorporated.

Can you record the puja for absent family members?+

You can record it yourself on your phone. Our pandit has no objection. For professional recording (e.g., for NRI family members watching remotely), we can coordinate with a videographer — cost on request.

Can the puja be streamed live for relatives abroad?+

Yes — we can set up a WhatsApp video call or Zoom stream during the puja for family members overseas. The pandit pauses at key moments for them to witness and do mental sankalpa.

Do you do corporate pujas and office inaugurations?+

Yes. Shop opening, office inauguration, new factory machinery (Ayudha Puja), quarterly Lakshmi puja for businesses, Vishwakarma Puja — all regularly performed. We invoice with GST for corporate billing.
