About Navratri Durga Puja
Navratri — meaning "nine nights" — is one of the most celebrated Hindu festivals, honoring Goddess Durga in her nine forms (Navadurga). Each day of Navratri is dedicated to a different form: Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri. In Bangalore, families from both Karnataka (South Indian) and North Indian communities celebrate Navratri with equal fervor — GoPuja offers tradition-specific rituals for both.
When to Perform
Sharada Navratri (September–October) and Chaitra Navratri (March–April) are the two main Navratris. Vijayadashami (Dussehra) on the 10th day completes the celebration. The single-day express puja is ideal for those who cannot do all nine days.
