Gopuja Vedic Private Limited(“Gopuja”, “we”) runs gopuja.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the website, book a puja, order a samagri kit or register as a pandit, and how we use and protect it. By using our website or services you agree to this policy and our Terms & Conditions.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Your name and mobile number — asked once before you contact us on WhatsApp or by phone, and on our booking forms.
- Booking details: the puja you want, preferred date and time, locality and venue address, and any notes you add.
- Details needed for the ritual itself, if you choose to share them — for example the names, gotra, nakshatra, rashi or date and time of birth of family members, used by the pandit for the sankalpa or for muhurat calculation.
- Email address, if you write to us.
- If you apply to join as a pandit: your name, contact details, locality, languages, traditions and experience.
Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time of visit) kept for security and to keep the site running.
- Your browser's local storage remembers the name and number you entered, so we don't ask again on every visit, and small preferences such as a dismissed banner. This stays on your device; you can clear it at any time from your browser settings.
2. How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry, confirm your booking, assign a pandit and deliver your samagri kit.
- To share the pandit's name and number with you, and your name, number and venue address with the assigned pandit.
- To perform the ritual correctly (sankalpa details, muhurat).
- To send booking updates, reminders and, for subscriptions, cycle reminders.
- To follow up on enquiries you started but did not complete — you can ask us to stop at any time.
- To process payments and refunds, and to keep records required by law.
- To review pandit applications.
4. How long we keep it
We keep booking and enquiry records for as long as needed to serve you and for our accounting and legal obligations, normally up to 3 years after your last booking. Pandit applications that do not proceed are deleted within 12 months. You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see below), except where we are legally required to keep it.
5. How we protect it
The website is served over HTTPS. Access to our booking records is limited to Gopuja staff who need it to handle your booking, and to the pandit assigned to you. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data and will inform you and the relevant authorities of any breach as required by law.
6. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian law, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct or update it;
- delete it, or withdraw consent you have given (this may mean we can no longer serve a pending booking);
- stop sending you follow-ups or reminders.

7. Children
Our services are booked by adults. We do not knowingly collect data directly from anyone under 18. Details of children shared by a parent or guardian for a ritual (for example a naming ceremony or upanayana) are used only for that ritual.
8. Links to other websites
Our site links to WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram, Google Maps and temple websites. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle your data.
9. Grievance Officer
If you have a concern about how your data is handled, contact our Grievance Officer at support@gopuja.comwith the subject line “Privacy grievance”, or write to the address below. We will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
