About Deepa Puja
Deepa Puja is a devotional worship dedicated to Lakshmi / Agni (Light Deity), performed with shodashopachara (sixteen-fold honoring), mantra invocation, abhisheka where applicable, archana, and naivedya. A traditional Deepa Puja — sacred lamp worship — performed for prosperity, removal of inner and outer darkness, and Lakshmi-grace. Gopuja arranges experienced pandits across Bangalore to perform Deepa Puja for your home, office, or community space with traditional South and North Indian vidhi.
When to perform it
Deepa Puja can be performed on the deity's weekday, on specific tithis (e.g. Pournami, Amavasya, Ekadashi), during festivals associated with Lakshmi / Agni (Light Deity), or any auspicious day chosen with your jyotishi. Daily, weekly, or special-occasion observance is all supported.
The South Indian procedure
South Indian (Smarta) tradition performs Deepa Puja with shodashopachara puja, ashtottara/sahasranama archana, abhisheka where applicable, naivedya of seasonal phala and traditional preparations, mantra pushpa, and aarti with karpura.
This is the form our pandits follow by default in Siddhartha Layout — Mysore families are overwhelmingly Kannada-tradition. Tell us if your family follows a different sampradaya and we will match a purohit accordingly.
