About Kadali Vivaha
Kadali Vivaha is a sacred wedding-style ritual pre-marital remedy — symbolic marriage to banana tree. A traditional pre-marital remedy where a Mangalik bride/groom is symbolically married to a kadali (banana tree) representing Vishnu — neutralising severe Mangal doshas. Performed with full Vedic procedure — sankalpa, deity invocation, mangalashtaka, saptapadi or its symbolic equivalent, and havan. Gopuja arranges experienced wedding pandits in Bangalore who conduct Kadali Vivaha as per family parampara.
When to perform it
Kadali Vivaha is performed during the auspicious vivaha window — typically Vaishakha, Magha, or Phalguna months, on a chosen muhurta verified from Panchang and both horoscopes (where applicable). Special days like Akshaya Tritiya, Vivaha Panchami, or Karthika Pournami are especially favourable.
The South Indian procedure
South Indian tradition performs Kadali Vivaha with Mangalashtaka, Kalasa Puja, deity invocation, symbolic dampati exchange, saptapadi where applicable, sangeet/nadaswaram, and prasad distribution. The complete vidhi follows Apastamba grihya sutras.
This is the form our pandits follow by default in Mandi Mohalla — Mysore families are overwhelmingly Kannada-tradition. Tell us if your family follows a different sampradaya and we will match a purohit accordingly.
