Question 1

Can a puja be valid if I am not physically present?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Shastra explicitly allows a puja to be performed on behalf of a yajaman who cannot attend, this is how temple sevas, Gaya shraddh and family kul pujas have always worked for people living far away. Your name, gotra, nakshatra and sankalp are taken by the pandit at the start, which is what binds the ritual to you. Joining live on video is for your participation and peace of mind, not a requirement for validity.

Question 2

How do I know the puja actually happened?

Accepted Answer

You watch it live on Zoom or WhatsApp video, and afterwards we send you the full recording, photographs of the sankalp and havan, and the pandit’s confirmation. Many families also ask a relative in Bangalore to attend in person, that is welcome.

Question 3

Can I pay in AUD from Australia?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Families in Australia pay in AUD by international debit/credit card, PayPal, bank transfer, Wise, or UPI from an NRE/NRO account. We send one itemised quote covering pandit dakshina, samagri and streaming before you pay anything, no hidden charges.

Question 4

Can you send a pandit to my parents’ home in Bangalore?

Accepted Answer

Yes, this is our most common overseas booking. We send the pandit and the complete samagri kit to your parents’ address anywhere in Bangalore, run the puja at their home, and connect you live so you can see everything and be part of the sankalp.

Question 5

What if the muhurat falls in the middle of the night in Australia?

Accepted Answer

IST is 4.5–5.5 hours behind Australia. A 9 AM Bangalore muhurat is around 2:30 PM in Sydney, the easiest timezone of all for a live puja. We tell you the exact local time in advance and, wherever the shastra allows, pick a muhurat that also works for your clock. If no shared window exists, we perform the puja at the correct muhurat and send you the full recording.

Question 6

Can I get prasad and tirtha couriered to my country?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on request. We pack prasad, tirtha, akshata and any consecrated items and courier them to your address abroad. Delivery times and customs rules vary by country, so we confirm what is possible for your destination before dispatch.

Question 7

Do you perform shraddh, tarpan and pind daan for NRIs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We perform annual shraddh, masik shraddh, Pitru Paksha tarpan, tripindi shraddh and Narayan bali on behalf of families abroad, with the correct sankalp naming the departed and the performing descendant. We also help arrange rituals at Gaya and other tirtha kshetras.

Question 8

Which language will the pandit speak?

Accepted Answer

Whichever you prefer, Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali or English. The mantras are always in Sanskrit; the explanation is in your language. Tell us your family tradition and we assign the matching purohit.

Question 9

Is an online puja as effective as one I attend in person?

Accepted Answer

The ritual itself is identical, same pandit, same mantras, same samagri, same muhurat, and the sankalp names you exactly as it would if you were sitting there. What you lose is your own physical participation: the smell of the havan, holding the akshata, doing the pradakshina yourself. That is a real loss and we will not pretend otherwise. What you do not lose is the efficacy of the ritual, which rests on the sankalp, the muhurat and the pandit's competence, none of which depend on your being in the room.

Question 10

How does an online puja actually work, step by step?

Accepted Answer

Five steps. You message us on WhatsApp with the ritual, the reason and where it should happen. We fix the muhurat and convert it to your local clock. You pay in your own currency. On the day, our pandit reaches the location with the complete samagri, takes your name, gotra and nakshatra in the sankalp, and streams the ritual to you on Zoom or WhatsApp video. Afterwards you get the recording, photographs and, on request, prasad couriered to your address.

Question 11

How do I book an online puja from the USA, UK or Australia?

Accepted Answer

The same way from anywhere: send us a WhatsApp message. There is no account to create and no app to install. Tell us the ritual, the date range you have in mind, and whether it should be at your parents' home in Bangalore, at a temple, or purely on your behalf. We reply within 15 minutes between 7 AM and 10 PM IST with the muhurat options and a single itemised quote.

Question 12

How much does an online puja cost?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the ritual, the number of pandits and the samagri, and we quote before you commit to anything. A Satyanarayan puja or a Rudrabhishekam sits at the lower end; a Chandi homam or an Ekadasha Rudra with eleven pandits at the higher. The quote is one number covering dakshina, samagri, travel and streaming, we do not add charges afterwards.

Question 13

Which puja should I book? I know the problem but not the ritual.

Accepted Answer

Tell us the situation rather than the ritual name and we will tell you what is prescribed, a new home, a delayed marriage, a child's exams, an ancestor's tithi, a difficult Shani period, a business that has stalled. This is the most common way our overseas bookings start, and there is no charge for the conversation.

Question 14

How long does an online puja take?

Accepted Answer

Most household pujas run 1.5 to 3 hours. A homam with a fire ritual is usually 2 to 4. Shraddh is around 2 to 3 hours per day. Extended forms, Ekadasha Rudra, Chandi homam, Akhand Ramayan, run from half a day to a full twenty-four hours. We give you the expected duration with the quote so you can plan the call.

Question 15

How do I give my gotra and nakshatra, and what if I do not know them?

Accepted Answer

Send them on WhatsApp with the booking, name, gotra, nakshatra and rashi for each person to be included. If you do not know the gotra, ask an elder in the family; if nobody knows, the sankalp uses the accepted general forms and the ritual is not affected. If you know your date, time and place of birth we can work out the nakshatra for you.

Question 16

What is the sankalp and why does it matter for a remote puja?

Accepted Answer

The sankalp is the formal statement of intent the pandit makes at the start, naming you, your gotra, your nakshatra, the place, the tithi and the purpose. It is what binds the ritual to you, and it is the reason a puja performed in Bangalore counts for someone sitting in New Jersey. Everything else in an online puja is logistics; the sankalp is the substance.

Question 17

Who arranges the samagri, and what do I need to send?

Accepted Answer

We do, and you send nothing. The complete samagri kit, every item for your specific ritual, sourced fresh, is brought by our team to the location. Nobody in India has to shop for it, which matters when the puja is at the home of elderly parents. If your family has a particular item they want used, tell us and we include it.

Question 18

Can I do a griha pravesh online for a home abroad?

Accepted Answer

Partly, and we will be straight with you about which part. The vastu shanti and the sankalp for the house can be performed in India in your name, and many families do exactly this. But the elements that belong physically to the house, the threshold, the kitchen's first fire, the milk boiling over, have to be done by you there, and we guide you through them live on video at the correct muhurat.

Question 19

Is online pind daan and shraddh actually valid?

Accepted Answer

Yes, when performed correctly in India at the right tithi with a sankalp naming the karta. This is not a modern accommodation, rites performed on behalf of a descendant who cannot attend are long established, which is how Gaya shraddh has always worked for families scattered across the country. What matters is the tithi, the place, the pandit's competence and the sankalp, not the karta's physical presence.

Question 20

How do I observe Pitru Paksha from abroad?

Accepted Answer

Book the shraddh on the tithi your ancestor passed, or on Sarva Pitru Amavasya if that tithi is unknown. We perform the tarpan and pind daan at your parents' home or at a tirtha, with you named as the karta. You keep whatever fast or restriction your family observes wherever you are, and join the call for the sankalp if the timing allows.

Question 21

Can I get a video recording of the puja?

Accepted Answer

Yes, every time, at no extra charge. We send the full recording, photographs of the sankalp, havan and naivedya, and the pandit's confirmation, usually within a day. Families often forward the recording to elderly relatives who could not join the live call.

Question 22

What happens if I miss the live stream?

Accepted Answer

Nothing is lost. The puja proceeds at the correct muhurat with your sankalp already taken, and you watch the recording afterwards. Joining live is for your participation, not for the ritual's validity, a point worth remembering when the muhurat falls at 3 AM in your city.

Question 23

How do I join the puja on Zoom or WhatsApp video?

Accepted Answer

We send the link on WhatsApp about fifteen minutes before. Zoom for families who want several relatives across different countries on the same call, WhatsApp video when it is just you. No account or setup is needed for either, you tap the link. We test the camera and the audio at the location before we start.

Question 24

How do I choose a muhurat when I live in a different timezone?

Accepted Answer

You do not have to work it out. We calculate the muhurat by the panchanga for the location where the puja will be performed, then convert it to your local time and send you both. Where the shastra allows a choice of windows, we pick the one that also works for your clock, later-morning IST suits North America, early-morning IST suits Australia and New Zealand.

Question 25

How do I send dakshina to the pandit from abroad?

Accepted Answer

It is included in the quote, you pay us once, in your own currency, and we hand the dakshina to the pandit in person. You never have to arrange a separate transfer or work out an appropriate amount. If you want to add something beyond the quoted dakshina, tell us and we pass it on with your name.

Question 26

Can you arrange a puja at my parents' home rather than a temple?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and this is the majority of what we do for families abroad. We send the pandit and the full samagri to your parents' address anywhere in Bangalore, so nothing has to be bought, carried or arranged by them. For elderly parents this is usually the whole point of booking with us rather than asking them to go to a temple.
