About Kuja Shanti
Kuja Shanti — also widely known as Mangal Dosha Nivarana Puja — is the prescribed Vedic remedy for individuals born with Kuja (Mars) placed in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, or 12th house from Lagna, Moon, or Venus. This "Manglik" placement can create delays in marriage, marital friction, aggression, and in severe cases, health or accident issues for the spouse. Kuja Shanti neutralises these malefic effects through a dedicated Kuja Homa, Narasimha / Subramanya propitiation, and specific mantra japa.
When to Perform
Performed on Tuesday (Mangal-vaar), ideally in Shukla Paksha, or on Angaraka Chaturthi, Mangala Gauri Vrat, or when Kuja transits powerfully. Essential before marriage for any Manglik individual. Also recommended when entering Kuja Dasha or Antardasha.

Regional Traditions
🌴 South Indian
South Indian Kuja Shanti emphasises Narasimha Swamy Puja (as Narasimha is Kuja's ishta), Subramanya Shashti Puja, Angaraka Stotra recitation, and Kuja Gayatri japa. Red coral daan and red cloth offering are traditional.
🔱 North Indian
North Indian tradition includes Hanuman Puja with Sundar Kand paath, Mangal Beej Mantra Havan (108/1008), and Dashamahavidya Bagalamukhi chanting for severe cases. Kumbh Vivah or Vat-Pipal Vivah is recommended for extreme Mangliks before actual marriage.
