About Rama Navami Puja

Rama Navami celebrates the birth of Lord Sri Rama — the 7th avatar of Vishnu — on Chaitra Shukla Navami (9th day of bright fortnight of Chaitra month). Rama embodies Dharma, virtue, and ideal kingship. The festival is especially celebrated in Karnataka with Panakam (jaggery-pepper drink) and Kosambari (lentil salad) as prasad — a uniquely South Indian tradition. Ramayana Parayana (reading) is a key ritual.

📅

When to Perform

Rama Navami falls on Chaitra Shukla Navami — typically in late March or April. The auspicious time is noon (Madhyahna) when Lord Rama was born.
