About Rama Navami Puja
Rama Navami celebrates the birth of Lord Sri Rama · the 7th avatar of Vishnu · on Chaitra Shukla Navami (9th day of bright fortnight of Chaitra month). Rama embodies Dharma, virtue, and ideal kingship. The festival is especially celebrated in Karnataka with Panakam (jaggery-pepper drink) and Kosambari (lentil salad) as prasad · a uniquely South Indian tradition.
