History of Sri Kumaraswamy Temple

Hilltop Subramanya temple, crowded on Skanda Shashti and Tuesdays.

Sri Kumaraswamy Temple sits on a rocky hillock in Hanumanthanagar, reached by a flight of steps. It is one of the best known Subramanya shrines in south Bangalore and a favourite with families from Basavanagudi, Hanumanthanagar and Srinagar.

Devotees come here for relief from sarpa dosha and kuja dosha, and on Tuesdays and Skanda Shashti the hill is crowded from early morning. The climb rewards visitors with wide views over old south Bangalore.
